Shauney & Tim

Shauney and Tim were married at the beautiful Bungalows right on the coast of Oakura.
Velveteen Collective captured the day embracing the light that shone through on these two.

Prior to meeting with Natalie at The Gatherers, I hadn’t really put too much thought into my wedding flowers.
I have never been a big flower person nor did I know what type or the names of flowers I liked! I had a very broad image in my head of ‘beachy yet modern’ using neutral tones that tie into the coastal surroundings and the beautiful Taranaki sunset. I also had some rose gold candle holders that I knew I wanted to use and somehow tie into the floral table settings.

From the very little direction I gave Natalie, she managed to put together a proposal that immediately hit the nail on the head. I did not know what to expect from a wedding florist but this very quickly exceeded my expectations.

It was so lovely to have a proposal with pictures and colour schemes that I then used as a basis for wedding decorations and even bridesmaid dresses. As we are Auckland based we only met with Natalie in person once and had a quick Skype catch-up a couple of weeks out from the wedding. On the day of the wedding, the flowers were absolutely breath-taking as you can tell from the photos. The beautiful archway was definitely the highlight right down to the beautifully delicate flower girl crowns and button holes for the men.

I had also received comments from guests that mentioned the table settings were the nicest they had seen at a wedding. We re-used the flowers the next day at our after-wedding Lunch and they still looked incredible.

I couldn’t recommend Natalie and The Gatherers highly enough, they were a dream to work with and the flowers truly were a statement piece at our wedding and played a huge part in the success of our special day.

Thanks again, Shauney & Tim xx
